HOW TO DO A PATCH TEST
Performing a patch test is a crucial step when introducing a new skincare product to your routine, as it can help you to determine whether the product is safe for your skin and whether you may have an adverse reaction to it. Here are the steps for performing a patch test:
- Choose a small area of skin on your inner forearm or behind your ear that is easily accessible and not visible.
- Apply a small amount of the product to the area and spread it evenly.Â
- Wait for at least 24-48 hours and observe the area for any signs of redness, itching, swelling, or irritation. If you have a reaction, remove the product immediately and rinse the area with cool water.
- If you do not experience any adverse reactions after 24-48 hours, it is likely safe to use the product on your face.

Anti-Ageing Retinoid Firming Cream
- Start with a small amount, applying every third night.
- Massage until absorbed, and if necessary, apply moisturizer afterwards.
- Increase frequency slowly based on your skin’s response.
- Some skin types may only tolerate retinol twice or three times a week, which is normal.
- Even if you build tolerance to daily use, it is recommended to give your skin a break from the product at least once a week.
- If you experience redness, irritation, or excessive dryness, scale back on usage.
Sensitive skin:Â For individuals with sensitive skin, it’s crucial to introduce new products gradually to avoid potential irritation, especially when using them overnight. Begin by performing a patch test on a small area of skin before applying the moisturizer to your entire face. If no adverse reactions occur after 24 hours, you can start using the product.
To build tolerance for overnight use, start by applying a small amount of moisturizer to your face before bed and leaving it on for a short period initially, such as 30 minutes to an hour. Gradually increase the duration of overnight application over several nights as your skin becomes accustomed to the formula. If you experience any discomfort or irritation, reduce the duration of application or discontinue use temporarily until your skin adjusts.
This gradual approach allows your skin to acclimate to the potent anti-aging ingredients without causing discomfort or inflammation.
