Our Lactic Acid Toner 5% is for those of you who have an uneven skin tone, pigmentation, chubaba as well as rough and dull skin.

It has been formulated to give you smoother, brighter-looking skin overnight.

This gentle exfoliating toner removes dead skin build-up while helping to unclog pores and refine uneven texture. Unlike harsh exfoliants that leave skin feeling stripped, this formula combines exfoliating acids with hydrating and soothing ingredients to leave your skin soft, balanced, and refreshed.

With regular use, skin appears smoother, more radiant, and visibly healthier-looking.

When designing this lactic acid toner, the goal wasn’t just to exfoliate, but to perform controlled resurfacing that respects the skin’s delicate moisture barrier. Lactic Acid 5 % is the ideal amount for skin of colour, melanin rich skin, as the risks for inflammation is low.

The Precision Blend inside our Lactic Acid Toner 5%

• Lactic Acid (The Gentle Refiner): We chose Lactic Acid at 5 % because according to research this amount improves skin smoothness and texture, also it is a larger molecule than glycolic acid, meaning it penetrates more slowly and causes less irritation. According to clinical studies on Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Lactic Acid is unique because it is also a natural humectant. It dissolves the “glue” between dead cells while simultaneously signaling the skin to hold onto more water.

• Glucono Delta-Lactone (The Protective Shield): This Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) was added to provide a secondary layer of gradual exfoliation. Because it is a large molecule, it works on the very surface of the skin to improve texture and clarity.

• Panthenol (The Recovery Specialist): Also known as Vitamin B5, this was included to ensure the skin remains calm during the exfoliation process. It provides deep-reaching hydration and supports the skin’s natural repair mechanisms, making this toner safe even for those prone to occasional breakouts or redness.

• Allantoin (The Soothing Catalyst): To finish the formulation, we added Allantoin to help support the skin during exfoliation by softening rough, dry surface build-up and encouraging a smoother, more refined texture. Its calming properties help minimise visible irritation and keep skin feeling balanced, comfortable, and hydrated.

How the ingredients Work Together in our Lactic Acid Toner

This toner was “put together” to solve the cycle of dry, bumpy skin. By combining an AHA (Lactic Acid) with a PHA (Glucono Delta-Lactone), we created a dual-action exfoliation system that works at different depths of the skin’s surface.

The addition of Panthenol and Allantoin ensures that as the old, dull cells are removed, the new cells underneath are immediately bathed in moisture and soothing agents. The result is a formula that doesn’t just strip the skin, it rebuilds its radiance and suppleness overnight.

Skin Types: All skin types (however, this should be avoided by those with severely dehydrated, dry or sensitive skin). Not to be used on a damaged skin barrier.

Use: Use every third night only. Do not use daily.

Contradictions: Not to be combined with other exfoliants or strong retinoids in the same skincare routine.
